Warrand For Imprisoning Thomas Spence
The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Having called Thomas Spence Servitor to his Majesties Advocate, And having quarelled him for his indiscretion in useing his masters name without order from him to that End for obtaining a warrand of the Admiral Court and thereupon arresting and Stopping all wool from going out of this Kingdome altho he hade been present when a Committee was appointed for considering that affair as ane matter of Government, And The Said Thomas Having acknowledged That he is guilty of what he is charged with, The saids Lords In Respect of the Said Thomas his acknowledgement and others his Indiscretiones in the said matter, Doe heirby ordain the macers of privy Councill To carry him To the Tolbooth of Edinburgh, And Appoints the Magistrats and Keeper of the tolbooth of Edinburgh To detain him prisoner till furder order of Councill.
