Act Dischargeing privy Counsellors and others in publick Trust to go out of this Kingdom

Immediatly after Reading of his majesties above Letter The following act being prepared was read approven and signed and the same was ordained to be published and Recorded. Whereof the tenor follows:
Forasmuchas It hes pleased his majestie By his Letter under his Royall hand of the date The Thirteenth day of December Instant upon consideration That the present posture and Circumstances of his majesties Affairs in this his Kingdom of Scotland, Require That these of his majesties privy Councill, and any others Imployed by his Majesty in publict Trust doe attend their Respective offices and Charges here, Do authorize the Lords of his privy Councill, To make publication That it is his majesties will and pleasure, That none of his majesties privy Councill, or any who are otherways Imployed in publict Trust, doe upon any pretence whatsoever, withdraw themselves from this Kingdom of Scotland before the first day of march next to Come, without Leave obtained from his Majesties as they will be answerable, and that Either by proclamation or otherways as they shall think fitt. Therfore the saids Lords of his majesties privy Councill Doe heirby give warrand and Command to their macers or messengers at arms to make Intimation of the premises by publict proclamation at the mercat cross of Edinburgh; As also They ordain all Sheriffs and their deputs, to cause Intimate The same by way of proclamation at the head Burghs of the severall shires within this Kingdom, with all Convenient diligence, That all Concerned may give due obedience thereto, and none pretend Ignorance. And ordains these presents to be printed. Given att Edinburgh The Twenty day of December 1698 years. Extracted.
