Letter from his Majestie adding The Earl of Englinton To the Privy Council

A Letter from his majestie To the Lords of his privy Councill adding the Earle of Englintoune to their Lordships number Read and ordered to be Recorded. Whereof the Tenor followes. After Reading of which Letter The Earle being called in, and Compearing The Earle swore and signed the oath of Aledgance and signed the assurance appointed to his majestie be act of parliament And Likeways signed the Association as hes been formerly done by other Councellors. And The Lord high Chancelor having administrate to him The oath de fideli The Earle of Englintoune was receaved a privy Councellor conform to his Majesties Letter and took his place att the board accordingly.

Right Trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councellor. Right trusty and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor. Right trusty and welbeloved Cousin and Councellors right trusty and welbeloved Councellors and Trusty and welbeloved Councellors. Wee greet yow well. Whereas in consideration of the Loyalty and abilities of our Right Trusty and welbeloved Cousin Alexander Earle of Englingtoune wee have thought fitt to add him To our privy Councill of that our Kingdom. These are therfore to authorize and Require yow To admitt and Receave the said Alexander Earle of Englintoun into this our Privy Councill in the ordinary form and method in the Like caices accustomed For doing wherof this shall be your warrant. So wee bid yow heartily farewell. Given at our Court at Kensington The 27th day of June 1698, and of our Reign the 10th year. By his Majesties command sic subscribitur James Ogilvie.
