Proclamation for adjourning the Parliament
William By the Grace of God King of great Brittain France and Ireland Defender of the faith To our Lyon King att armes and his Brethren heraulds Macers of our privy councill pursevants messengers att armes our Sheriffs in that part Conjunctlie and Severallie specialy Constitute Greeting Forasmuchas wee by our Proclamation of the date the ninth of December Last bypast Did Adjourn this our current Parliament To the Eleventh day of March next to come now Instant. And Whereas the present state of our affairs, does not Require the meeting of our Parliament so soon as the said day, to which it was adjourned. Therfore wee with advice of the Lords of our privy Councill are resolved to continue the said adjournment from the said Eleventh day of March Instant, To the Twenty Eight day of June next to come. And wee doe heirby order and Require all the members of our Current parliament To attend The said Twenty Eight Day of June next to come att Edinburgh in the usual way and under the Certificationes contained in the severall acts of parliament made thereanent Our Will is Herefore And wee charge yow strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen, ye pass to the mercat Cross of Edinburgh and to the mercat Crosses of the Remnanet head Burghs of the severall Shires and Stewartries of this our ancient Kingdom, And There by proclamation make Intimation that our said parliament is Adjourned, To the said Twenty Eight Day of June next to Come, And ordains these presents to be printed. Given under our Signet att Edinburgh The Third day of March; and of our reign the Nynth year 1698 sic subscribitur.
