Letter from the King for Adjourning the Parliament

The Letter underwrittin from his Majesty To the privy Councill being read was ordered to be Recorded, whereof the tenor follows:
Sic suprascribitur William Rex
Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councellor, Right trusty and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor. Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and well-beloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and welbeloved Councellors and trusty and welbeloved Councellors. Wee greet yow well. Wheras By the Last act of the Last Session of our current Parliament of that our ancient Kingdom, The same was Adjourned to the fifteenth day of november last, And wee being then abroad furth of our Kingdoms, our orders for a further Adjournment did not arrive before that time. And yow not Knowing our pleasure thereanent, having by your act of the said fifteenth of november caused Intimation to be made, That all members of Parliament should be Ready to meet and attend in this our Current Parliament So soon as our pleasure should be signified to them for that Effect Which act and Intimation Wee heirby confirm and approve And further wee doe by these presents authorize and Require yow in our name and authority to Issue furth our royall proclamation ordering the Continuation of the Adjournment of our said parlaiment To the Fourthtenth day of March next Ensueing. And ordering all the members therof to attend that day in the usuall way. and upon the accustomed Certifications And So wee bid yow heartily farewell.2 For doing whereof this shall be your warrant. Given at our court at Kensington The Thirteenth of December 1698. and of our Reign the 10th year. By his Majesties command sic subscribitur Seafield.
