Warrand for Disbanding Colonell Hill’s Regiment
A Letter from his majestie to the Councill nominating Brigadier Maitland to be Governour of Fort-William and appointing his Regiment to be the Garrison therof and when they are Landed to give them orders to march To the said Fort. And upon That Regiments coming there To order Collonell Sir John Hill his Regiment to be Disbanded and their armes artillery ammunitions and whatever Else in the Garrison belongs to his Majesty To be delivered to Brigadier Maitland for which he is to be answerable and appointing to pay to them ther full pay to their Disbanding with Eight days allowance to the private Centinells for carrieing them to their respective homes being This day Read in presence of the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill. They heirby ordain the said Letter To be recorded in their Books, And Require and Command Brigadier Maitland whom his Majesty hes Thought fitt to nominate Governour over Fortwilliam and his Regiment to be Garrison thereof To march forthwith with his said Regiment Straight way to Fort-William and upon his Coming there Doe heirby give order and warrand To the said Collonell Sir John Hill at Fortwiliam To disband To disband2 The Garrison att Fortwiliam presently under his Command and to call In such of the said Garrison as are out upon parties That they may be disbanded together and to Deliver ther armes artillery ammunitions and what Else in the said Garrison doth propperly belong to the Kings Majesty To the said Brigadier Maitland for which he is to be Answerable Conform to ane Inventar and Receit And The saids Lords Doe heirby give order and Command To Livtennent Colonell Dalziell Livetennent Collonel To Collonell Archibald Row his Regiment to disband such of the said Collonell Hill his Regiment who are att the Town of Inverness and to take Care that ther arms be Secured in the next Magazine for his Majesties use when called for. And appoints the said Collonell Sir John Hill to take care that the detached Garrisons of his Regiment which are not att Fortwilliam or Inverness be disbanded upon the arryvall of any parities of Brgadier Maitlands regiment at any place where they are or may be and that the arms of the Souldiers so disbanded be secured and delivered to the Commanding officer of such partie of Brigadier Maitlands Regiment as they shall be disbanded In presence of And be Laid up in the next magazine To be furthcoming for his majesties use. And Recommends To the Lords Commissioners of his majesties Thesaury To cause payment be made To the said Collonel Sir John Hill his said Regiment of their full pay to the Tyme of disbanding with Eight days allowance to the privat Centinells for carrieing them to ther respective Homes Conform to his Majesties Letter forsaid.
