Act in favors of the earl of Haddington To be master of the game within the Shyre of Haddingtoune
Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill be Thomas Earle of Haddingtoune Shewing That wheras by reason of the want of a master of Game within the Shyre of Haddingtoune these Severall years by past the Game within that Shyre was much decayed and waisted The order and observance of the good Lawes and acts in relation to game being wholly neglected for remeed wherof It was necessary the saids Lords appointed a master of Game within the Said Shyre; And Seing the petitioner had both his residence and intrest within the said Shyre whereby he was Capable to take the more exact care of the execution of the saids Lawes and acts made for preservation of Game And Therfore Humbly Supplicating the saids Lords to the effect aftermentioned The Lords of his majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the above petition given in to them by Thomas Earle of Haddingtoune They doe hereby Nominat and appoint the Said Earle of Haddingtoune to be master of the Game within the Shyre of Haddingtoune And hereby gives to his Lordship all powers and priviledges Competent to masters of Game by the Lawes and acts of this kingdome And this to endure as Long as the other masters of game appointed by the proclamation of privy Councill anent the game emitted upon the Nynth day of August Jaj vic Nyntie two years doe continue.
