Warrant for delivering Some woolen Stuffs Seazed by the Tacksman of the Customs to the Duke of Queensberry etc
Sir James Stewart His Majestys Advocat having Represented to the Lords of His Majestys privy Councill, That their is a Small peice of woolen Stuff prohibited by the late act of parliament belonging to His Grace the duke of Queensberry, Sir Andrew Ramsay of Abbotshall and Sir Thomas Dalziell which was bought before the act of parliament made for prohibiteing these goods which is the Thirty one day of January last and that the Same is Seazed upon as being contrary to the said act of Parliament, The Saids Lords of His Majestys privy Councill, do heirby give order and warrant to the Tacksmen of his Majestys Customs and Forraign Excyse and to their Collectors Surveyers and waiters and other Servants under them to deliver back the Said goods So Seazed as said is, To His Grace The Duke of Queensberry The Saids Sir Andrew Ramsay and Sir Thomas Dalziell according as they have Interest therin The Said duke of Queensberry or Commissar William Alves for His Grace, and the Saids Sir Andrew Ramsay and Sir Thomas Dalziell for themselves first giving under their hands a declaration Subscryved by them bearing that to the best of their Knowledge the goods now Seazed were all bought for their use before the date of the act prohibiteing the Importations of Such goods, which is the said Thirty first of January last bypast
