Letter from the King dischargeing all persons in public Trust to leave the Kingdom

The Letter underwrittin from the King to His Commissioner and Councill Being Read was ordered to be Recorded, whereof the tenor follows.

Right Trusty and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor, Right trusty and Right welbeloved Cousin and Councellor, Right trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councillors, Right Trusty and welbeloved Councellors, and trusty and welbeloved Councillors, Wee greet yow well. Whereas Wee Judge It necessary in the present Juncture of our affairs, That these in our Service Should for some tyme closely attend their Severall Charges, Especialy these of our Councill and Exchequer, for dispatch of such bussiness as may have been postponed by the long Sitting of our Parliament and that none be divested from their necessary attendance, by waiting on us here, Wee have thought fitt, and do heirby prohibit and discharge all persons in publick Employment and trust, or of our Councill and Exchequer to leave that our Kingdom, betwixt and the First day of May next without our Speciall liberty, Excepting only our Secretaries of State who are heirby allowed to Repair when they Shall think fitt, and this our Pleasure yow are to Signify to all Concerned, for doing wherof this shall be yowr Warrant, Se wee bid yow heartily farewell, Given at our Court at Hampton Court the 22d day of January; and of our Reign the Twelfth year.
