Act

Protectione In favors of Coll McDonell of Keppoch

Anent the petitione Given in to the Lord high Chancelour and remanent Lords of his Majesties privy Councill by Coll Mcdonald In Keppoch Sheweing That where It pleased the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill by there Act of the Nynth of August last to Grant the petitioner a personally protectione to the first of January thereafter which wes thereafter prorogate in favours of the petitioner and his brother Angus with a Liberty for them to Attend their Lordships at Edinburgh To the sixth of Jully instant that the petitioner might treat with the persones named in there Lordships former act anent The Laird of McIntoishes affairs in presence of Brigadeer Maitland Governour of Fortwilliam, In prosecutione wherof the petitioner hes treated Accordingly And the Laird of Mcintoish and the petitioner are fully settled by A Subscribed Agreement reported to their Lordships by the said Brigadeer Maitland And Seing it will be necessar both to the effect that the petitioner May Attend their Lordships pleasure in relatione to the said report And Lykewayes for draueing the wrytes and papers betuixt the Laird of McIntoish and the Petioner² for Implement of the said agreement which are not yet fully extended in wryteing That their Lordships protectione may be yet prorogate for sometyme with Liberty for the petitioner to Attend their Lordships at Edinburgh to the effect forsaid As alsoe that their Lordships protectione be prorogat to the said Angus McDonald the petitioners brother as formerly being a persone necessary for perfecteing the saids wrytes And Therefore Craveing It might please their Lordships to renew to the petitioner and his said brother their personall protectione with pouer to them to Repair till Edinburgh and other places needfull within the Kingdome for the effect forsaid The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the petitione given in to them be Coll McDonald in Keppoch They doe heireby grant personall protectione to the said Coll McDonald and to the said Angus McDonald his Brother untill the first day of January J^aj vii^c and tuo years next to Come inclussive As to any thing May be Layed to ther charge upon Accompt of their actings against the Government Allenarly To the effect the said Coll McDonald May Continow and treat with the persones Named in the former Acts of Councill of the date the tuelvth day of March and Nynth of August J^aj vii^c years anent the Laird of McIntoish and his private affairs In presence of Brigadeir Maitland Governour of Fort William And Discharges all Macers Messengers at Armes and other officers of the Law within this Kingdom to Trouble or Mollest the said Coll or Angus McDonalds upon Accompt of Any thing May be Laid to their charge for their bypast actings Against The Governement before the said first day of January be Elapsed and Dureing the space of the said protectione Have allowed and heireby allowes the saids Coll And Angus McDonalds to Repair to the City of Edinburgh or other places needfull within this Kingdome to the effect abovementioned sic subscribitur Marchmont chancelor Seafeild Mar Loudown Northesk Montgomerie James Stewart C Campbell A Drummond.
