The Viscount of Rosebery admitted a privy Councillor

Letter from the King to the Councill for Reciveing of Archibald Viscount of Rossberry a privy Councellor Read and ordered to be recorded; And the said Lord Viscount of Rosbery being presently present attending he was called in and did Swear and Signe the oath of alledgance to his Majestie and Signed the assurance and association as appointed by the acts of parliament And the Lord Chancelor haveing administrat to him the oath de fideli he was received a privy Councillor Conforme to his majesties Letter wherof the tenor Followes
Sic Supra Scribitur William Rex
Right trustie and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trustie and weell beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trustie and weell beloved Councillors And trustie and weell beloved Councillors, Wee greet yow well. Wheras in Consideration of the Loyaltie and abilities of our Right trustie and weell beloved Cousin Archibald Viscount of Roseberry Wee have thought fitt to add him to our privy Councill ther, These are therfore to authorize and requyre yow to admitt and receive him into that our privy Councill in the ordinary forme and method in such caices accustomed; For doeing wherof this shall be your warrant. And So wee bid yow heartily fareweell; Given at our Court at Hamptoune Court the 28th day of June 1701 and of our reigne the 13th year, By his Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Carmichaell.
