Procedure

Severall persones added to the Commission of Justiciary for the Northern district

Anent a Petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill be Sir Alexander Ogilvie of Forglen Shewing That wher upon the Seventh day of November instant; The Commissioners of Justiciary for the Highlands having mett at Aberdeen; And haveing taken under their consideration That Severall Gentlmen named in the Commission hade not accepted nor qualified themselves Therfore They Recommended to the petitioner to apply to the saids Lords to procure the persones contained in the extract of the Recomendation therwith given in to be added to the Said Commission And Therfore humbly Supplicating to the effect aftermentioned, The Lords of his majesties privy Councill haveing Considered the above petition given in to them by the above Sir Alexander Ogilvie of Forglen They conforme to the power given to them be the said Commission, Doe hereby add the persones afternamed Viz James Grant of Wester Elues; Robert Dunbar of Grainghill, Alexander Lessly of Kinnibie Alexander Southerland of Kinminitie, Alexander Gardin of Troop, Archibald Dunbar of Thundertoun John Forbes of Balflug, Francis Gordon of Craig […] Farquherson of Finzean Robert Grant of Dunluqus […] Ross of Auchlosen younger Thomas Hay Shirrif Clerk of Aberdeen John Skeen younger of Dyce John Gordon of Halwood […] Auchanachie Mr John Innes of Summahard […] Dunbar of Kirkhill and […] Lumsdean younger of Cushine to the said Commission for the Northern district with power to them to meet and act as Commissioners and to doe every thing therin alse fully and freely in all respects; as if they hade been named in the said Commission The forsaid persones first qualifieing themselves in the termes of the said Commission.
