Letter from the King for admitting the Earl of Southerland a privy Councillor

Letter from the King to the Councill Nominating the Earle of Southerland to be a privy Councillor Read and ordered to be recorded, And the Councill appointed the Said Earle of Southerland before he was received a privy Councillor to Swear and Signe the oath of alledgance And to Subscrybe the assurance and association and to take the oath de fideli: Off the which Letter the tenor followes

Right trustie and Right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trustie and well beloved Councillors and trustie and well beloved Councillors. Wee greet yow well. Wheras in Consideration of the Loyaltie and abilities of our Right trustie and well beloved Cousin […] Earle of Southerland Wee have thought fitt to add him to our privy Councill there, These are Therfore to Authorize and require yow to admitt and receive him into that our privy Councill in the ordinary forme and method in such caices accustumed For doeing wherby this shall be your warrant; And So wee bid yow heartily farewell; Given at our Court at Hamptoune Court the 28th day of June 170i and of our Reigne the i3th year By his Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Carmichaell.
