Letter from the King to the Councill for Examineing persons in prison and under Confynement, and to Liberat them if they Judge propper

The Following Letter from the Kings Majesty to his Commissioner and Councill, Being Read was ordered to be Recorded, wherof the tenor Follows.

Right Trusty and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor Right trusty and Right welbeloved Cousin and Councill, Right Trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councellors, Right Trusty and welbeloved Councellors, and Trusty and welbeloved Councellors, Wee greet yow well, Whereas Wee do Incline, To Extend our Royall Clemency to Such persons as have been for any Considerable tyme in prsion or under Confinement for their disafection to our Government or upon Suspicion of their bad designs against it, Wee do Therfore authorize and Require yow to Consider and Examine the case and circumstances of such persons, and where yow find That favour may be Shown without any prejudice to our Service in this Juncture, Wee do heirby Impower yow to Sett Such persons at liberty, and take off, and take off any Confynement or Restraint they may be under, either Simplie or upon Security for their peaceable behaviour as yow shall Judge most propper, For doing whereof This shall be your Warrant, So wee bid yow heartily farewell, Given at our Court at Loo The Third day of October i700, and of our Reign the 12th year.
