Order
Recomendation to the Theasurie in favours of the underkeepers of the parliament house
Anent a petition given in to His Majesties high Commissioner and Lords of privie Councill by David Millar and Thomas Kennedie under keepers of the parliament house Shewing That where thorrow the slacknes of the summer session by the freqwent adjurnment of the parliament dureing the tyme the session satt and the want of the three first moneths of the Winter session The poor petitioners Togither with their wyves and Families were Reduced to great straits and wants haveing nothing at present for their subsistance Notwithstanding all that tyme they were at as great pains in attending Their Lordships orders both in sitting of parliament and Committies and in makeing the house neat and Clean and etc as possibly they could And seing for the causes forsaid their Losses were very great (they haveing no other mean of subsistance but by the session when sitting) not under Ten pound starling each of them They and their Families would be reduced to the outmost extremity if his grace and their Honoraball Lordships out of their gracious bounty did not prevent it Therfore Craveing to the effect aftermentioned as the said petitione bears His Majesties high Commissioner and Lords of privie Councill haveing considered the above petition given in to them by the saids David Millar and Thomas Kennedie They heirby Recomend to the Lords Commissioners of His Majesties Theasury to allow to the petitioners such a gratification as their Lordships shall think reasonable for the petitioners above Losses
