Act and Recomendation anent The Toun of Kirkaldies accompts
The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill haveing Considered a report of a Committie of their oun number appointed for reviseing the accompts appointed by his Majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing that the said Committie having Considered the accompts given in to them as resting be his majesties forces to the toune and inhabitants of Kirkaldie with the instructiones and verificiationes therof They Find some of the articles of this accompt are not in the termes of the act of parliament anent the polemoney and proclamationes of Councill relateing therto and therof they have refused and rejected these articles And Finds it suficiently verified and proven be the oathes and depositiones of the saids Inhabitants taken before the Commissioners of Supply within the shyre of Fyfe Conforme to the Commissioners report signed by them produced to and Considered be the Committie That besides the articles refused and rejected as said is, Ther is yet resting be his Majesties forces upon Scots pay to the said toune and Inhabitants the soumes following viz be Collonell Cuninghame his regiment of foot the soume of Four hundreth and Fourscore punds six shilling scots Item by the deceast Earle of Marr his regiment of foot the soume of Twentie punds one Shilling six penies scots money Item by Sir William Hope his troop of horss the Soume of seventein punds five shilling scots Item By My Lord Rollo his troop of horss the soume of four pund ten shilling scots Extending altogither the saids soumes resting by the forces upon scots pay to the soume of Fyve hundreth twenty two punds two shilling six penies scots money, And the Committie Finds that the haill articles quherof the said soume is made up are all in the termes of the act of parliament Entituled act for pole money and of the proclamationes of Councill of the date the last day of Jully Jaj vjc nyntie four years relative therto, And Therfore It is the oppinion of the Committie That this soume of Fyve Hundreth Twentie two punds two shilling six pennies scots Is to be payed to the said toune and Inhabitants of Kirkaldy out of the said polemoney And that they are to be Recomended to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury for payment of the same accordingly And the Comittie Finds that ther is resting be the forces not upon scots pay furnished in maner forsaid the soumes following viz Be the Earle of Leven his regiment of foot the soume of Two hundreth thriescore on punds nyntein shilling Eight penies scots, Item by Collonell Beverage his regiment the soume of Seven punds thrie shilling scots By Collonell Ramsay’s Regiment six pund ten shilling Eight penies scots Item by the deceast Major Generall Mckay his regiments one pund four shilling scots, Item by Coll Lauders regiment fourtein punds seven shilling scots Item by the deceast Coll Balfour his regiment Threttie four punds sixtein shilling scots and ten penies Extending the haill soumes resting be the forces not upon scots pay to the Soume of thrie hundreth twentie six punds one shilling two penies scots And it is the Committies opinion that this soume is to be transmitted to the kinds majestie that he may order such courss to be taken therwith as in his Royall wisdome he shall think fitt as the said report it self more fully bears They heirby approve therof and Recommand to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury to cause payment be made out of the present polemoney to the towne and Inhabitants of Kirkaldie of the above soume of Five hundreth twentie two punds two shilling six penies scots resting by the scots forces and appoints the soume resting by the English forces to be transmitted to his majestie to the effect mentioned in the report.
