Kings Letter anent the Earle of Home
The Letter underwryten being read was ordered to be recorded whereof the tenor followeth sic suprascribitur William Rex Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councillor right trusty and intirely beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councillors, right trusty and right welbeloved Councillors Right trusty and welbeloved Councillors and trustie and welbeloved Councillors We greet you well whereas the Earle of Home is at libertie under baill to answer when called It is our pleasure and we doe requyre you to call for the Earle of Home and Committ him to the Castle of Edinburgh till we signifie our further pleasure for doeing whereof this shall be your warrand and so we bid you heartilie farewell Given at our Court at Kensingtoune the tuentie third day of March 1694/5 and of our Reigne the 6th year By his majesties Command sic subscribitur John Dalrymple
A Letter from the from the Kings majestie Requyreing the Lords of his privie Councill To call for the Earle of Home and Committ him to the Castle of Edinburgh till his Majestie signifie his further pleasure being read The said Lords doe hereby appoynt their Clerk to wryte to the Earle of Home acquainting him with his Majesties Letter and that it is the Councills pleasure That he enter himself prisoner in the Castle of Edinburgh betwixt and this day eight days with certificatione to him if he failzie That the penalty of his bond given to the Councill will be confiscated and lyke wayes appoynts the said Clerks to acquaint the Earles Cautioners with the said Letter Direct to the Councill from the Kings Majestie and this ordor and Recommends to the Earle of Leven Governour of the Castle of Edinburgh and in his absence gives ordor and warrand to the next Commanding officer there To receive and detaine the said Earle of Home prisoner in the said Castle untill farder ordor
