Recomendation In favors of the inhabitants of Falkirk
The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill having Condescended the report of a Comittie of their oun number appointed for reviseing the accompts resting be his majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie having Considered the accompts given in to them as resting be his majesties forces to the inhabitants within the toune and paroch of Falkirk, The tenants of the barony of Stenhouse The Inhabitants of Dunovan, Boards, Dennie Catscleugh Borland, Myredyke Steall Bankhead, Bromage tenents of Quarrell, Woodside, Kirkland and Kinaird Inhabitants of Lethem; Bothkener Westertoune parish of Airth Belsdyke Newtoune, Belsyde Pocknabe Pasculies Hygins Inch Lacker Rassull Ballmitchell Bunahill Whin Stonrig Hillhouse Burne and Sumerhouse with the instructiones and verifications of the saids accomptts They Find that ther are severall articles of the saids accomptts stated upon the forces quhich were not upon scots pay as to quhich the parties doe not insist at present In resect ther will be nothing allowed for these out of the polemoney And Therfore the Committie makes no other report anent these articles And Finds that the are some of the articles of the2 saids3 accompts stated above the rates allowed be the Lords of privy Councill And Therfore they have restricted these articles to, and stated them at the Councells rates and Finds the haill articles of the saids accompts suficiently verified and proven be the oathes and depositiones of the persones Creditors in the saids Accompts taken before the Commissioners of Supply within the Shyre of Stirling Conforme to the Commissioners report subscribed by them written upon the same book with the acomptts and some of the saids articles both be the Creditors oathes and be tickets and recepts under the hands of the officers or Souldiers to whom the same were furnished all quhich accomptts report or tickets and recepts were produced to and Considered by the Committie, And Finds that Conforme to the saids accompts and instructiones therof forsaid Ther are resting by his majesties forces upon scots pay as they are stated by regiments and troops in maner underwritten to the persones forsaids Creditors in the same accomptts Inhabitants of the toune and within the paroch of Falkirk and tenants and inhabitants of the barronies lands and bounds particularly abovenamed The sums following Viz By the Earle of Argyll his regiment of foot the soume of Two Thousand six hundred thriescore one punds fiftein shilling Eight penies scots Item by the deceast Lord Angus his regiment of foot the sum of ane hundreth and Eight pund fiftein shilling ten penies scots Item by the Laird of Grubitt his troop of horss the sum of Two hundreth and fiftein punds Eleven shilling scots Item by the Earl of Glencairn his regiment of foot the sum of Thrie score seven pund sixtein shilling scots Item by the deceast Lord Bargeny his regiment of foot Fiftein punds six shilling scots Item by the Viscount of Kenmuir his regiment of foot ten pund nyne shilling scots Item by the Earl of Eglingtoune his troop of horss the Sum of Thriescore thrie punds ten shilling scots Item by the deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragoons twelue shilling scots Item By the Lord Elphingstoune his troop of horss two pund sixtein shilling scots Item by Captain Burnet his roop of horss four punds Scots Extending the haill soumes forsaid to the sum of Thrie Thousand one hundreth and Fiftie punds Eleven shilling six penies scots and the Committie Finds that the haill articles quherof this last sum is made up were all furnished preceiding the first day of February Jaj vjc nyntie one years and that they are all in the termes of the nynth at fourth sessione of this Curent parliament 4 Intitulled act for pole money and of the proclamations of Councill relative therto And Therfore Its the Committies opinion that the said sum of Thrie thousand ane hundreth and fiftie punds Eleven shilling six penies scots as to be payed out of the said pollmoney And that the persones forsaids Creditors in the saids accompts Inhabitants of the toune and above paroch of Falkirk and tenants and inhabitants of the baronies and bounds particularly abovenamed are to be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury for payment of the same accordingly And the Committie Finds that besides the articles forsaids extending as said is Ther is resting by the officers afternamed to the persones after mentioned the soumes following Viz be the Laird of Ardkindlass one of the Captains in the Earle of Argyll his Regiment of foot to Androw Buchanan armourer in Falkirk for two swords twelue punds scots Item be Livd Lamont in the same regiment to George Ranie of Catscleugh for two bridles with a new sadle and wholl furniture therof taken away by the said Livt from the said Androw the like soume of twelue punds scots Item by Captain Home in the deceast Lord Angus his regiment to John Knox merchant in Falkirk Eleven punds four shilling Item by Captain Kay in the same regiment to the said John Five punds twelue shilling And the Committie are of opinion that thir articles are not to be allowed out of the polemoney in generall but that it be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury to detaine as much of the pay resting to the saids officers (if any be) as will satisfie the saids articles and that they make payment of the same to the persones forsaids Creditors therin, as the said report bears The Lords of his majesties privy Councill Doe heirby approve therof And Recomends to the Commissioners of parliament appointed anent the polmoney to Cause pay to the persones forsaids The soum of Thrie thousand one hundred and Fiftie punds Eleven shilling six penies scots stated in the said report as resting be his majesties forces upon scots pay to them and that out of the polemoney And Recomends to the saids Commissioners to detaine as much of the pay resting to the officers named in the report (if any be) as will satisife the sumes in the articles in the said report resting be them to the persones therin named
