Recomendatione the Inhabitants of Glencoe to the Thesaurie

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of his majesties privy Councill by […] McDonald sone to the deceast […] McDonald of Glencoe, and the rest of the Inhabitants of Glencoe Shewing that where after the unhappey murder that was committed upon severalls of our Relationes in the year of God Jaj vjc nynty and two years not only the goods of those that were murdered but also the petitioners2 that escaped were seased and disposed on, by which they3 were not only rendered unable to pay the Cess due to his Majestie out of the said Lands, but also to subsist were it not by the Charity of good neighbours that lived near them, and yet notwithstanding of this their Low and miserable Conditione they are threatn’d to be quartered on for the Cess payable out of the said Lands for the space of thretty moneths and a half since Candlemass Jaj vjc nynty and one years extending monethly to ten pound scots and in the Haill for the said thretty moneths and a half to the sum of three Hundred and fyve pounds which they are not able to pay and will intirely ruine them in case the same be uplifted from them And therfore Humblie Craveing the said Lords to pitty their sad and indigent Conditions and Recomend to the Lords of his Majesties Thesaurie to discharge the Receivers of the Supply from quartering for the petitioners proportions thereof And to allow the same to the Collector of the4 supply of the Shyre of Argyle in his accounts that they may be freed and noe furder trouble for the same since they are interly unable to pay it as the said petitione bears
The Lords of his majesties privy Councill Haveing considered the foresaid petitione given in to them by […] McDonald sone to the deceast […] McDonald of Glencoe and the rest of the Inhabitants of Glencoe They Hereby recomend to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Thesaurie to give orders for sisting executione against the said petitioners as to the Supply untill his majesties pleasure be knowen in this matter
