Act The late Bishop of the Isles

Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his majesties privy Councill be Mr Archibald Rahame late Bishop of the Isles Shewing That quher severall of the inhabitants within the bounds of the said bishoprick of the Isles hath hitherto been deficient in payment to the petitioner and John Grahame of Dougallstoune as deryveing right from him of the revenue of the said Bishoprick and the petitioner having used the outmost dilligence that the Law Could allow and hes been at very great expences yet the in accessiblnes and distance of the said bounds hes rendered all ineffectuall these thretein or fourtein years bygon and the petitioner having presented ane act to his majesties high Commissioner and right honoraball estates of parliament Craveing and warrand to quarter for what of the said revenues is Justly resting to the petitioner upon such as are Lyable in payment therof the samen being first Constitute against them by legall sentances or otherwise that military asistance might be granted for useing of poynding and Captione therfor and to appoint the Comander in Cheif to order the said assistance and that is should be used on the Charger of the persones Lyable in payment, upon reading quherof It is majesties high Commissioner and estates of parliament Recomended to ther Lordships to fall upon such methods as might make the payment of the above rents effectuall upon the Charges of the persones Lyable in payment as the extract of the said recomendation of parliament therwith produced bears And Therfore humbly supplicating to the effect aftermentioned The Lords of his majesties privy Councill having Considered the above petition given in to them be the above Mr Archibald Grahame late Bishop of the Isles with the extract of the Recomendation of parliament mentioned therin and produced therwith They Recomend to and Requyre the Comander in Cheif of his Majesties forces within this kingdome or the Governor of Inverlochie for the time to Grant parties for assisting the petitioner and the above John Grahame of Dougallstoune or ther factors for ingathering of the above rests by poynding and Caption the sentance of a Judge allwayes preceiding the same and that upon the Charges and expenses of these Lyable in payment
