Comittie on the Lybell The Lady Bamff against The Lord Bamff and a protectione

The Lybell at the instance of the Kintoir and Leyes trusties for the Lady Bamff Against the Lord Bamff being this day Called in presence of His Majesties high Commissioner and the Lords of privy Councill and the said Lady Bamff and her trusties Compeiring personally with Sir2 James Stewart his majesties advocat and Mr James Scougall ther procurators and the defender Compeiring also personally The Lybell and also a petit[ion] for the defender Craving protection being read and the witnesses being Called two of them viz James Edisone and William Grant Compeiring personally and the Rest of them being Called and not Compeiring his Majesties Commissioner and the Lords of privy Councill Grants farder dilligence by Caption against the witnesses Cited and not Compeiring for aduceing these witnesses before the Councill upon the second Tusday of Jully nixt And Grants personall protection to the said Lord Bamff for the space of fourtein dayes from the date heirof and from the first day of the said moneth of Jully to the fifteinth day of the same inclussive to the effect he may see the witnesses examined and attend the said proces And Discharges any messenger at armes officers and other executers of the Law as weell in burgh as Landward to put any letters of Caption or acts of warding or other dilligence to executione against his persone for the said space of fourtein dayes from the date heirof and from the first day of Jully nixt untill the said fiftein day of the same moneth be first elapsed excepting allwayes for his majesties rents dues and particular burdeins and the two witnesses present having made faith nominats and apoints the Viscount Tarbet Lord Carmicheall and Enstruther to be a Comittie for examining the witnesses Reserves all objectiones to be proponed and discust before the Comittie And Recomends to them to meett the morrow at ten in the fornoon and Declairs any two of them to be a quorum Sic Subscribitur Annandale P. Queensberry Cassills, Rosse Carmicheall, Adam Cockburne, F Montgomry Lodovick Grant John Maxwell.
