Recomendatione anent accomptts In favors of The Shyre of Edinburgh Additionall

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill having Considered the report of a Committie of their oun number appointed for revising the accomptts resting by his majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Comittie having Considered the accompts given in to them as resting by his majesties forces upon scots pay to the Inhabitants within the shire of Edinburgh They Find the haill articles of the saids additionall accompts suficiently verified and proven either be recepts or subscribed acomptts under the hands of the officers or souldiers to whom the same was furnished or by the oathes and depositions of the furnishers taken before the Commissioners of Supply within the said shyre Conforme to the Commissioners their report all which was produced to and Considered by the said Comittie except two punds Which being interlyned in one of the recepts They have refused and rejected the same, and Finds that Conforme to the saids accompts and instructions therof ther is yet resting by his majesties forces upon scots pay as they are stated in regiments and troops in maner after set doune besides the sums formerly allowed to the said shyre Conforme to the act of privy Councill of the date the […] day of […] Jaj vjc nyntie four years The sums following viz By the Earle of Eglingtoune his troop of horss the sum of ane hundred and fiftie one punds seven shilling six penies scots Item by Coll Cuningham his regiment of foot The sum of Twentie Eight punds sixtein shilling scots Item by the Lord Angus his regiment of foot Thrie punds scots Item by the deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of dragoons seven punds four shilling scots Item by the Master of Polwarth his troop of horss one pund Eightein shilling scots Item by the Laird of Grubit his troop of horss the sum of one hundreth thretein punds nyntein shilling Eight penies scots Item by the Lord Yester his troop of horss six pund Fiftein shilling scots Item by the Lord Blantyres regiment the sum of Twentie seven punds six shilling two penies scots Item by the Artilliary men Nyntein punds six penies scots Item by the Lord Newbotle his troop of horss fourtein punds fourtein shilling six penies scots Extending the haill sums forsaid in one to the sum of Thrie hundreth Fourscore punds one shilling two penies scots And the Committie Finds that the haill articles quherof the said totall sum is made up2 all furnished preceiding the first day of February Jaj vjc nyntie one years and that they are all in the termes of the nynth act fourth session of this Current parliament Intitulled act for pole money and proclamations of Councill relative therto And Therfore the Committie are of opinion That the said sum of Thrie hundreth fourscore four punds one shilling two penies scots Is to be payed to the saids Inhabitants out of the present polemoney, And that they are to be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury for payment of the same accordingly and Finds that besides the soumes forsaids ther is resting be the officers underwritten upon scots pay to the persones afternamed the sumes following viz By Major Mckay in the Laird of Grants regiment to Patrick Telferr Taylor burges of Edinburgh the sum of Twelue penies scots Item by Alexander Grant Captain Livd in the said regiment sixtie five punds scots Item by George Grant Livd in the said regiment sixtein punds four shilling scots, Item by Alexander Inglis Livd in my Lord Strathnavers regiment the sum of Thretie five punds four shilling six penies scots Item by Adam Whitfoord in my Lord Rollo’s troop sixtein pund nyntein shilling four penies scots Item by John Chrichton in the same troop twelue punds scots all to the said Patrick Telferr Item by Alexander Carmicheall Ensigne in Coll Cuninghames regiment to Margrat Bervie relict of umquhill Arthur Findlay Mari3ner in Leith the Sum of Twelue punds scots And it is the Comitties opinion that the soumes are not to be payed out of the polemoney In Respect it does not apear that the same were for meat and drink to the persones forsaids or to the use of the troops or regiments But that it should be Recomended to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury to detaine the sume out of the areirs Which shall be found due to the persones forsaid debitors therin and Cause payment be made to the saids Patrick Telfer and Margaret Bervie proportionally as above sett doune as the said report bears The saids Lords of his majesties privy Councill Doe heirby approve of the said report And Recomends to the Commissioners of parliament appointed anent the pollmoney To Cause pay to the saids Inhabitants The above Sum of Thrie hundreth Fourscore punds one shilling two penies scots as resting by his majesties forces upon scots pay to them and that out of the said polemoney And Recomends to the saids Commissioners of parliament To Cause detaine alse much arreirs due to the officers above named if any be resting as will satisfie the articles due by these officers to the persones named in the above report and Cause make payment to them of the same.
