Act and recomendatione The tenents of Scullog inhabitants of Rothsey
The Lords of his majesties privie Counsell haveing considered the report of a comittie of ther own number appointed for reviseing of the accompts resting be his majesties forces to the countrie Beareing that the comittie haveing considered two accompts given to them as resting be The Earle of Argulls regiment which was upon Scotts pay The ane therof to the tenents of Skulog in the Shyre of Boot And the other to the inhabitants of the burgh of Rothsay in the Same Shyre with the instruments and verificationes of both the accompts They find ther are some articles in the saids accompts are not in the termes of the act of parliament Jaj vic and nyntie thrie and proclamations of Counsell relative therto And Therfor they have refwsed and rejected thir articles and that ther are others stated above the rates alloued by the privie Counsell And therfore they have restricted these articles to the Councells rates and Stated them accordingly And finds the articles of the saids accompts restricted as said is Sufficiently verified and proven by the oaths and depositiones of the pairties furnishers taken befor two of the comissioners of Supply within the said Shyre Conforme to the comissioners reports on the end of the saids accompts beareing that ther depositiones were taken befor them Which accompts and reports was produced to and considered by the comittie And finds that conforme therto ther is yet resting be the said Earle of Argwyle his regiment to the saids tenents of Skulog the Soume of Seventyne punds twelve Shilling Scotts And to the inhabitants of the said burgh of Rothsay The Soume of Ane Hundereth and fiftie six punds Sixtein Shilling Scotts And finds that the articles wherof ther two Soumes are made up of are all furnished preceeding february Jaj vic nyntie one And that they are all in the termes of the nynth act fourth Session of this current parliament and proclamationes of Counsell relative therto And therfor it is the comitties opinion that the same is to be payed out of the pole money imposed in anno Jaj vic nyntie thrie And that the tenents are to be recommended to the comittie of parliament appointed anent the said polemoney for payment of the Same accordingly And finds it Sufficiently verified and proven be recept under the hand of Leivtenent Robert Campbell that ther is resting to James Stewart collector of the Supply in Buteshyre The Soume of Two hundereth and Seventie thrie punds Scotts advanced be him out of the five moneths Supply payable at Mertimes Jaj vic nyntie yeirs for defraying the expensses of severall Souldiers at the Shillens two Serjeants at nyn Shilling and two corporalls at Six Shilling per diem All of the said Earle of Argwyles regiment And finds by the oath of the said James Stewart taken befor two comissioners of Supply in the said Shyre that the said Soume is not allowed in the cess nor no pairt therof payed conforme to the oath of the date the tuentie fifth day of February Last bypast produced and considered be the comittie And therfore it is ther opinion that the Soume is also to be payed out of the said polemoney imposed in anno nyntie thrie And that the said James Stewart is to be recomended to the said comittie of parliament for payment therof And finds that ther is resting be Robert Campbell Livetenent in Ueseterkames his company to Robert Wallace Messinger in Rothsay The Soume of nyn punds two Shilling four pennies be his ticket of the Eightein day of december Jaj vic and nyntie yeirs And it is the comitties opinion that it be recommended to the said comittie of parliament to make payment of the Same to the said Robert Wallace In case ther Shall be any arreirs found resting to the said Leivtenent out of the polemoney of the haill accompts resting be the forces to the countrie is payed furth therof and no other wayes As the said report beares The said Lords of his majesties privie Counsell heirby approve of the said report And recomends the comissioners of parliament appointed anent the polemoney imposed in anno Jaj vic nyntie thrie to cause make payment to the persones mentioned in the said report of the respective Soumes due to them Specified therin And in the termes therof And that owt of the said polemoney
