Protectione Raitt of Halgreen
Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of his majesties privy Councill by William Raitt of Halgreen Shewing That where the said petitioner was denounced upon a process intented before the said Lords against me at the instance of George McKenzie of Stonehyve Factor appoynted by the Lords of Sessione for the Estate of Halgreen and severall of the tenents and possessors thereof which happned through the mallice and designe of the pursuers their delaying to insist in their process untill the dayes contained in the said Lords former protectione to the said petitioner were elapsed and now he haveing given in a bill of suspensione of the said denounceatione the samine cannot be got expeed untill the same be Heared before the said Lords and seeing it is necessar for his attending such dyets as the said Lords should appoynt for discussing the said suspension and consulting his Lawiers anent the said process that He hes the said Lords their protectione for some competent tyme conforme to the said Lords their daylie practise in the lyke Cases and therfore Humblie Craveing the said Lords might grant a personall protectione to the said petitioner for such competent tyme as the said Lords should think fitt, as the said petitione bears The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill haveing considered the foresaid petitione given in to them by the said William Rait of Halgreen They hereby grant personall protectione to the said petitioner untill the eighteen day of Apryll next inclusive and Discharges all macers messingers at armes and all others to put any Letters of Captione acts of wardeing or any other dilligence to executione against the said William Raitt untill the said eighteen day of Apryll next inclusive excepting alwayes his majesties rents or publict dues sic subscribitur Annandale P Southerland J Morton Breadalbane Tarbat Carmichaell Polwarth James Stueart Lodovick Grant
