Act anent the Toune of Banffs accompts
The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill having Considered the report of a Comittie of ther oun number to whom it wes appoynted for reviseing the accompts resting be his Majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie haveing Considered Bearing That the Committie haveing Considered the accompts given in to them as resting be the deceast Lord Cardross his Dragoons, and the Gentlmen of the Lord Beilhaven his troope of horss which were both upon scots pay To the inhabitants within the burgh of Banff with the instructiones and verifications therof They Find the haill articles of the saids accompts suficiently verified and proven be the tickets recepts or subscryved accompts and be the Report of the Commissioners of supply within the shire of Banff Bearing that they have seen the principall tickets Contained in the accompt now given in to the Committie which instructs the same to be truely resting owing and that they have taken the oathes and depositiones of the saids inhabitants That the saids troops were quartered upon them the moneths weeks and dayes mentioned in the accompts and that the accompts and tickets were granted for true and Just Soumes and that the same were truely furnished be the saids inhabitants to the souldiers and as yet resting unpayed, Which accompt tickets recepts and report were produced to and Considered be the said Committie, And Finds that the haill articles of the saids accompts furnished to the said deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragoons are all preceiding the first day of February Jaj vjc nyntie one years. But Finds that ther are severall articles of the accompt furnished to the said Lord Beilhaven his troop which are after the said day, And Therfore they have rejected these articles and Caused dilate them out of the accompt And Finds that after dilatine of these articles ther is still resting to the inhabitants within the said burgh of Banff the soumes following viz be the said deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragoons The soume of Two hundred punds Eightein shilling and two pences scots, and be the Gentlmen of the said Lord Beilhaven his troop of horss, The soume of Two hundreth nyntie seven punds five shilling ten penies scots money forsaid Extending both the soumes togither to the soume of Four hundreth nyntie Eight pund four shilling two penies scots And the Committie Finds that the articles of the said accompt wherof this accompt is made up are all in the termes of the nynth act fourth sessione of this Current parliament Intituled act for pole money dated the twentie nynth day of May Jaj vjc nyntie thrie years and of the proclamatione of Councill relative therto dated the last day of Jully Jaj vjc nyntie four years And Therfore It is the Commities opinion that the said soume of Four hundreth nyntie Eight punds four shilling two penies scots Is to be payed to the inhabitants of the said burgh of Banff out of the polemoney appointed be the said act And that the inhabitants forsaids are to be Recomended to the Lords Commissioners of ther Majesties thesaury for payment of the same accordingly as the said report bears The Saids Lords of his majesties privy Councill Doe heirby approve of the said report and Recomends to the Lords Commissioners of their Majesties thesaury to Cause payment be made out of the present pole money to the saids inhabitants of Banff of the said soume of Four hundreth and nyntie Eight punds four shilling and two penies scots.
