Letter from the Councill to the King anent the Laird of Mcintoches losses
The following letter from the Councill to the Kings Majestie being read was approven and signed and ordored to be recorded in the Councill books wherof the tenor followeth May it please your majestie The Laird of Mcintoch haveing suffered great losses by the Highland Rebells for his affectione and zealle in your majesties service upon applicatione made to the Estates of parliament And due tryall taken his losses were found to exceed the sum of two thousand four Hundred sextie and sex pounds sterling And the Parliament thought fitt to remitt to us to recomend him to your majestie wherefore we haveing againe revewed the foresaid tryall and considered the quantity of the Gentlemans losses with his good affectione to your majesties Goverment and the merite of his familey do in all humility2 Crave3 leave to lay his Case before4 your Majestie And recomend him and it to your Majesties Royall favour and bountie may it please your Majestie your Majesties most Loyall most faithfull and most obedient subjects and servants sic subscribitur Annandale p Melvill Morton Cassillis Leven Forfar Breadalbane Tarbat Raith Carmichaell James Stueart.
