Letter frae the King in favors of Duke of Gordone
The following letter being read was ordered to be recorded and ane act to be extracted thereon follows the Letter sic suprascribitur William Rex Right trusty and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and entirely beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and well beloved Cousins and Councillors and trusty and welbeloved Councillors We greet you well whereas by our Letter of the tuenty sexth of February Last We granted to the Duke of Gordone the Libertie of the Toune of Edinburgh and of four myles round till the first day of June next He finding security to live peaceablie within the bounds of his said Confynement and To reenter his persone prisoner in our Castle of Edinburgh on the said first day of June we think fitt to Continow him the same Libertie of the Toune of Edinburgh and of four myles round for sex moneths to come he finding security for his behaviour in the tearmes abovementioned and to reenter himself prisoner at the end of the said sex moneths and so we bid you heartily farewell given at our Court at Kensingtoune the tuenty seventh day of Apryll Jaj vjc nynty and fyve years and of our Reigne the seventh year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur J Johnstoun
