Kings letter anent Duke Gordone

The Letter aftermentioned being produced was read and ordored to be recorded whereof the tenor followeth sic suprascribitur William Rex Right trusttie and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and intirely beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trusty and right well beloved Cousins and Councillors Right trusty and right welbeloved Councillors Right trusty and welbeloved Councillors Trusty and welbeloved Councillors we greet yow well whereas by our letter of the fourth of December last we allowed the Duke of Gordone upon the account of his health the libertie of the toune of Edinburgh and of two myles round till the first of march next we think fitt to continow to him the same libertie of the toune of Edinburgh and of four myles round dureing the three ensueing moneths He renewing his securerity to live peaceablie within the bounds of such his confynement, and to reenter his persone prisoner in our said Castle upon the first day of June next to come and so we bid you heartily farewell Given at our Court at Kensingtoune the tuentie sixth day of Februarie Jaj vjc nynty and fyve years and of our Reigne the sexth year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur J Johnstoune.
