Recomendatione The principall and masters of the Marshall Colloge of Aberdein

Anent the petition given in to his Majesties Commissioner and Lords of his majesties privy Councill be the principall and masters of the Marishall Collodge of Aberdein Shewing That wher the edifice of the forsaid Colledge being nowayes suficient for accomodating the students and which has a great stopt and hinderance to ther Learning the petitioners did undertake the errecting of ane new building and hade no encouragment to this save that the nobillity and Gentry in the north Countrey did assist the petitioners with some small Contribution But notwithstanding all the petitioner gott that way they were put to vast charges and expences themselves and all they are able to doe is to bring the forsaid edifice to be rooffed But the same is yet neither Glassed nor floored, And they haveing represented this formerly to their Lordships they were pleased to Recomend to the Lords of thesaury for the stipend of the Church of Foverain then vaccant But all that they gott by this was that they were put to expenses Foveraine and Udney the principall heritors having suspended their gift, and did prevaill in the suspensione against the petitioners, And ther being two Churches of which the King is patron Viz Auchterless and Rossmarkie now vacant and which is also Churches of which the Bishops were formerly patrones, and in which no minister has preached or officiat as incumbent since they were vaccant And Seing ther can be no more pious use then the assisting of the petitioners in a work so usefull Especially seing they were disappointed of ther Lordships former bounty And Therfore Humbly Supplicating the saids Lords to the effect aftermentioned His Majesties high Commissioner and Lords of privy Councill having Concidered this petition given in to them be the above principall and masters of the Marishall Collodge of Aberdeen, They heirby Recomend to the Lords Commissioners of his majesties thesaury to dispose of the vaccand stipends of the above Churches of Auchterless within the shyre of Aberdeen and Rossmarkie within the shyre of Ross in favors of the petitioners for Compleating the above edifice upon ther finding Cautione for the due application of the same.
