Recomendation anent accompts In favors of Commissar Stewart, Alexander Gadderer and Calder of Muretoune

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Having Considered the report of a Committie of their oun number appointed for reviseing the accompts resting be his Majesties forces to the Countrey Bearing That the Committie having Considered the severall accompts given in to them as resting by his majesties forces to the persones afternamed viz the first to David Stewart Commissar of Murray and his tennents of Overmest, The second to Alexander Garderer in Mainkeins and the thrid to Sir James Calder of Muretoune and his tennants all in the shire of Elgine, with the instructiones and verificationes of the saids accompts, They Find that ther are severall articles in these accompts which are not in the termes of the act of parliament anent the polemoney and proclamationes of Councill relative therto, and therfore they have refused and rejected all these articles and finds that there are severall articles stated in these accompts as Resting be the forces not upon scots pay, Which at the desire of the parties the Committee has not revised, and finds there are some articles in these accompts stated above the Rates allowed by the Councill, and Therfore they have Restricted these articles and stated them att the Councill’s rates, and finds the haill articles of the saids accompts sufficiently verified and prov’n be the Oathes an depositiones of the Furnishers, Heretors and Tennans forsaids tak’n before the Commissioners of Supply within the said shire of Elgin Conform to the Commissioners report written upon Each of the saids three accompts and subscribed by them Bearing that the saids persones. Heretors and Tennants forsaids Compeared before the Commissioners and gave their Oathes that the saids accompts were truely furnished be them preceeding the first day of February 1691 years, and that there is no pairt of them pay’d, and that the same to their Knowledge does not Exceed two thirds of the Souldiers pay in the twenty four hours, Which reports and accompts were all produced to and considered be the said Committie and finds that there is one article in Commissar stewards accompt of six pound three shilling four pennies, and another in Sir James Calder’s accompt of sixtie eighty pound and eight shilling scots for born furnished to the magazine of Elgin and in respect these articles does not condescend upon the troopes to whom the Corn was giv’n out, that the same may be detained off their arriers, Therfore the Committee Leaves their artticles to the Councills consideratione, that they may determine therein as they shall find just, to the Effect the Committee may know what to doe, in the like case when it occurrs, and the Committee finds that besides the articles restricted or not revised as said is, and the Corn to the magazin there is yett resting to his Majesties forces upon Scots pay to the Saids persons as followes viz To the said Comissar Steward and his Tennants in Overmest the sumes following by the forces after set down viz By Captain Burnet of Balfour his troop of horse the Sum of four pound scots. Item be Collonell Richard Cunningham his Regiment of Foot the sume of Eighty pounds twelve shillings scots Item by the Laird of Edinglassie his troop the sume of One hundred and two pounds scotts. Item by the master of Polwarth his troop of horse the Like sume of one hundred and two pounds scotts. Item by the deceast Lord Cardross his Regiment of dragoones the sume of Fourtie two pounds thirteen shilling four pennies and the said deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of dragoons the said master of Polwarth and Land of Edenglassie their troops of horse amongst them, the Sume of two hundred and three pounds six shilling eight pennies scots Extending the haill sumes forsaids resting be his Majesties forces upon scots pay to the said David Stewart Commissar of Murray and his tennants in Overmest altogether to the Sume of five hundreth and thirty four pounds twelve shillings scots Item to the said Alexander Garderer the Sumes following to the forces after sett down viz by Sir William Hope his troop of horse six pounds thretein shilling four pennies scots. Item by the deceast Lord Cardross’s Regiment of dragoons the Sume of thretein shilling four pennies scots. Item by Major Stewart his troop of horse four pound scots. Item be the Lord Rollo of horss One pund scots. Item be the Lord Rollo of horss one pund four shilling scots And by Captain Burnet of Balfour his troop of horss the soume of Twentie Seven punds six shilling Eight pennies scots Extending the haill soumes forsaid resting by his Majesties forces upon scots pay to the said Alexander Gadderer altogither to the soume of Threttie nyne punds sixtein shilling four pennies scots Item to the said Sir James Calder of Muirtoune and his tennents the soumes following be the forces after sett doune viz by the deceast Lord Cardross his regiment of Dragoons the Soume of Two hundred and Nyne punds Eight shilling scots Item by the Lord Rollo his troop of horss the soume of Eleven pund seven shilling scots Item by the Master of Polwarth his troop of horss the soume of Twentie Eight punds sixtein shilling scots Item by the Laird of Edinglassie his troop of horss four pund four shilling scots Item by Major Stewart his troop of horss the soume of Fourtein pund Eight shilling scots Item by Coll Richard Cuninghame his regiment of foot the soume of ane hundreth and threttie four punds twelue shilling Eight pennies scots Item by the viscount of Kenmuir his regiment of foot the soume of Twentie punds scots and by the Laird of Grant his regiment of foot thrie pund fiftein shillings scots Extending the haill soumes forsaids resting be his majesties forces upon scots pay to the said Sir James Calder of Muirtoune and his tennents altogither to the soume of four hundreth and thretie one punds six shilling Eight pennies scots, And Finds that all the articles quherof the above soumes were made up were furnished preceiding the first day of February Jaj vjc nyntie one years and that they are all in the termes of the nynth act fourth sessione of this Current parliament and proclamationes of Councell relative therto and Therfore It is the Committies Opinion that the said soume of five hundreth and thretie four punds twelue shilling scots resting to the said David Stewart Commissary of Murray and his tennents of Overmest, and the said soume of thretie nyne punds seventein shilling scots resting to the said Alexander Gadderer and the said soume of four hundred thretie one punds six shilling Eight pennies scots resting to the said Sir James Calder of Muirtoune and his tennents are all to be payed out of the present polemoney and that the persones forsaids and their saids tennents are to be recomended to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties thesaury for payment of the same accordingly as the said report bears The saids Lords Doe heirby approve of the said report and Recomends to the Commissioners of parliament appointed anent the polemoney To Cause pay to the said David Stewart the soume of five hundred and Threttie four punds twelue shilling scots, To the said Alexander Gadderer Threttie nyne punds seventein shilling and to the said Sir James Calder the soume of four hundreth and threttie one punds six shilling scots money as resting be his majesties forces upon scots pay to the saids persones and that out of the said polemoney.
