Act Grant of Balnatome
Anent the petitione Given in to the Lords of their Majesties privie Councell by Archbald Grant of Balnatome Sheuing That wher the petitioner being one of the Commissioners of supplie in the shire of Murray and being Lately nominat as one of the Commissioners of Justiciary for the Highlands He is not able to attend the respective meetings of the saids Commissioners by reasone of his old age And being valitudinary and Liveing remote from the head burgh and the petitioner being often absent in ane other shire at a Great distance And seing ther are sufficient numbers of accepting Commissioners as the petitioner also did accept from tyme to tyme and took the oath of alleadgance and assurance and served accordingly so Long as his age and his health and other Circumstances uould permitt And therfore humbly Craving their Lordships to exoner the petitioner from Keeping the saids meetings of the shire or Justiciary as the said petition bears The saids Lords of their Majesties privie Councell Having Considered the said petitione They heirby exoner the petitioner from any farder trouble In attending as one of the Commissioners of Supplie uithin the shire of Murray And nominats and appoints Mr Frances Grant of Balnatome his son to be one of the Commissioners of Supplie uithin the said shire of Murray
