Committee anent a Rable in Edinburgh

The Lords of their Majesties privie Councell doe heirby Recommend to the Earle of Forfar the Laird of Grant and Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in cheiff of their Majesties forces uithin this kingdome To take tryall anent the rable which was Lately in Edinburgh or Cannongate and examine the persons alleadged guiltie of or accessione therto whither in prisone or out of prisone and such persons as Can give Evidence against them as the Committie shall receave Informatione from the Magistrats of Edinburgh with pouer to the said Committie to Give sentence against any four of the persons whom they shall find guilty to goe to Flanders as souldiers in their Majesties service And to delyver them to the officers who have Imprisoned four seamen as souldiers to be Carryed abroad by these officers In place of the seamen who are to serve aboard a fyreship presently ordered by the Councell to be sent out against the rebells in the Bass And Recommends to the Committie to reserve one of the persons who shall be found most guilty of the rable to be punished as a publict example to deterr others from being guilty of the Lyke cryme in tyme coming And Recommends to their Majesties advocat to meet uith the said Committie And declares any tuo of the said Committie to be a sufficient quorum In caise the Lord Advocat be present And Recommends to them to meet this day at three In the afternoon
