Folloues his Majesties Letter
Right trustie and right uell Beloved Cousin and Counceler Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousin and Counceler right trustie and uell beloved Cousins and Councelers Right trustie and uell beloved Councelers And trustie and well Beloved Councelers We Greet yow well Wheras we have ordered our secretaries of state for that our Kingdome to take baile of Archbald Cockburn of Langtoune younger to present himself before yow betuixt and the first day of July next It is our will and pleasure And we doe heirby authorize and Requyre yow upon his performance to Confyne him to our City of Edinburgh and seven mylls round it And to accept sufficient baill and security of him to Live peacably under our Government And to Compear before yow when called For doing wherof this shall be your warrant And so we bid yow heartily fareuell Given at our Court at Queaks the 4th day of May 1696 and of our reigne the 8th year by his Majesties Command sic subscribitur J Murray
