The Letter underwryten from his Majestie to the privie Councell Being this day Read was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor folloues
Sic Suprascribitur William Rex
Right trustie and Right well Beloved Councelor Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and right well Beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and well Beloved Councelors And trustie and well beloved Councelors We Greet yow well we have receaved We have receaved yours of the Eight and are very well satisfied with your proceedings And the dilligence and dispatch yow have made at this tyme And we doe think fitt that yow Continou to doe what is necessary for securitie of that our Kingdome particularly that the Militia be made effectuall In the manner yow aggreed to And which we approved off in May last And Did againe recommend to yow in our last of the fourth Instant And we expect to have any account that the directions yow have Given for the necessary reparations of the garrisons and manning of the Cannon are putt in execution And also that yow take care that your necessary orders In all these matters be duely observed so we bid yow heartily Farewell Given at your Court at Kensingtoune the 18 day of December 1696 And of our reign the 8th year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur Tullibardine.
