Procedure

Provost of Edinburgh to give in List of horse Coupers and Comittie to examine them

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill doe Hereby recomend to Sir Robert Cheislie present provost of Edinburgh To make up a List of the severall Horses liveing within the Toune of Edinburgh and the Liberties priviledges or suburbs of the same and To give in the said list to the Clerks of privie Councill and nominats and appoynts the Earle of Lauderdale Lord Carmichaell and the said Lord Provost to be a Comittie for examening of the said horse Coupers anent what Horses have been in ther Hands or have been Sold by them and to what persones since the first day of November Last and ordaines the macers of Councill to warne all the Horse coupers contained in the roll That shall be given in by the Lord Provost To appear and attend upon the foresaid Comittie within tuentie four Hours next after they shall be charged for that effect and to bring with them all List of what horses they have sold of what pryce and to whom And declaires any two of the above Committie to be a sufficient quorum and Recommends to them to meet and examine the said Horse coupers as they shall be ceitted from tyme to tyme and to make their report in this matter to the Councill And ordaines the Macers to give in formall executions under their hands upon the warneing of the Horse Coupers to appear before the Committie.
