Procedure

Approbatione of makeing prisoners in the Castle Closs

Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in Cheiff of his Majesties forces within this Kingdome Haveing acquainted the Councill That he hes received a lyne from Captain Colt in the Castle of Edinburgh Showing him that upon informatione of some Designe against the garrisone of the garrisone of the² Castle He hes committed the persones who are prisoners therin closs prisoners and desyres the Councills approbatione of what he hes done The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill doe hereby approve of what the said Captain Colt hes done and appoynts the said persons to continow Closs prisoners and only one servant to have accesse to each of them where they stay untill the said Lords doe give ordor for their inlargement And appoynts the baggadge which shall be brought in to the Castle for the use of the said Prisoners to be carefully searched when they enter the Castle gates.
