Warrant
Warrand to the Provost of Edinburgh to transmitt the ten recruits from the Castle of Edinburgh
The Lords of his majesties privie Councill doe hereby recomend to the Lord Provost of Edinburgh one of their owne number once this afternoone To cause transport from the Castle of Edinburgh the ten recruits which are lyeing sick in the said Castle which the good Toune hes prepared for them And recomends to the said Lord Provost to 2 take care that these ten recruits be sufficiently furnished with meat, drink, bedding and other necessaries. And appoynts the macers of privie Councill to intimat to Collonell Buchane Commandant That He attend the Councill upon munday at ten of the clock and be then readie to give securitie to furnish the said ten men at fyve shilling scots each man per diem for their provisione in maner foresaid so long as they shall continow in the House to which they are to be transported That thereby the Toune of Edinburgh may be free of their burden And that he acquaint the officers to quhom these recruits doe belong to take care that the said persones doe not make ther escape out of the foresaid house seing the toune of Edinburgh are not to be lyable for keeping of them.
