Warrant

Warrand to transmitt recruits from Edinburgh Castle to the Tolbooth of Leith

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill doe hereby recommend to Sir Thomas Livingstoune Commander in Cheiff of his Majesties Forces within this Kingdome To cause convey this afternoon under a sufficient guard from the Castle of Edinburgh to the tolbooth of Leith the recruits which are presentlie Lyeing in the said Castle and Recomends to the Earle of Leven Governour of the said Castle and in his absence gives ordor and warrand to the next commanding officer in the said Castle to delyver the said recruits to the said Guards and to the Baillies of Leith and keeper of ther Tolbooth to receive them from the said guard and detaine them prisoners untill they be delyvered to the officers to whom they belong respective And ordains the officers to furnish the said recruits at the rate of fyve shilling scots a peece per diem for meat and drink dureing the tyme of their continowing in prisone.
